Medicaid & state variation
Treat Medicaid readiness as state-first work—not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
PayerReady Health helps teams organize the state, program, managed-care, and workflow questions that shape a responsible Medicaid readiness discussion.
Practical advisory support
Preparation that leaves your team with a clearer next move.
Start with the state, program, plan when applicable, and the operational issue. Medicaid requirements vary; current state and plan instructions remain the controlling source.

03
North Carolina site visits: Beginning October 1, 2026, NC Medicaid says federally mandated screening visits for providers classified as moderate or high risk are unannounced. The contractor notifies the provider that a visit will occur within a specified timeframe rather than giving a fixed date and time. Visits scheduled before October 1 remain scheduled. Providers who completed a Medicare site visit within the past five years should indicate that on their application and do not need another visit at this time.
04
North Carolina Medicaid reverification: Enrolled providers must complete reverification every five years. The October 1, 2026 NC Medicaid reminder gives providers 70 days from the initial reverification notification date to complete the application. Use the individual notice and NCTracks to confirm the provider-specific due date; late completion can lead to suspension and claims pended.
